Christmas is a special time of year for lots of us, but particularly our children.  The magic we create around this time of year lasts a life time, I can still recall the excitement of not being able to go to sleep Christmas Eve and worrying if Father Christmas would still arrive if I was awake, then waking up to a big sack of presents.

I still carry on many of the little rituals that my parents did for my brother and I too.  I'm sure lots of us all loved leaving out a mince-pie on a plate for Santa with a carrot for Rudolph and of course a drink too.  But now we can add to the tradition and magic, whilst any old plate did the job back then now you can have a special plate to leave those treats on!

The next tradition has to be the hanging up of the stockings.  Now whether you do this for decoration or for use a personalised stocking is very striking.  We have a lovely design this year with blues and pinks, a nice change from the traditional red, but of course we do that colour too!

Another tradition that we do with our children is having a special bauble each year with the children's names and year on.  It's a lovely way to finish dressing the tree when you take out all the special baubles and place them on the tree in pride of place.  It's also a lovely way to welcome a new member into the fold, a my 1st Christmas bauble with a special message on the back will become a very treasured keepsake.
